TITLE: Stunning - Large Size Tularosa Anasazi Black on White Olla

DESCRIPTION:
A beautiful example of an Anasazi Tularosa style black on white olla from the American Southwest. This large size example dates from around 1125-1300 AD and was a water storage container. This olla has a very unusual inverted lug design one which I've never seen before. On the base are two silver dollar size inverted holes. The thought is the holes are for suspension or simply pouring aids? The olla was professionally restored in the style of many years ago. There is a minimal of 5-7% plaster restoration, the paint enhancement to the outside surface is very well done. When looking inside you can see all the pieces that the pot was in before restoration. This piece was purchased from a Sotheby's auction, the Sotheby's auction sticker is still located on the base of the olla.

CONDITION: Overall Good conditon, professionally restored with 5-7% plaster and paint enhancement on the outside. An exceptional job was done on the restoration.

DIMENSIONS:
The olla measures 10 1/2" high by 14" across the body.
